Drama and Puppet Theater”Ivan Dimov”

The building of the theater is one of the emblematic architectural monuments of the town of Haskovo which date back to the 1930s. Built in 1926, rebuilt over the years, mainly renovated in 2004 by the municipality of Haskovo, the building still awakes admiration, both in its exterior and interior design. The theater has performance halls available: a large theater hall with 260 seats and a small puppet theater hall with 110 seats. Access for disabled people is provided. The theater lobbies function as an art gallery. The theater has a “Fairy Tales” room for the kids of the audience during a performance.

It was named after one of the best dramatic and cinema actors in Bulgaria – Ivan Dimov, who was an actor and director in the town of Haskovo. The idea to hold Theatrical Holidays in June is already a tradition. This is the time when foreign and Bulgarian casts can present their plays on the stage of this theater, as well as on open scenes such as street and park spaces, Renaissance houses and entertainment venues.
