HASKOVO – HASKOVO The monument of Petko Voyvoda

The opening ceremony of the monument of Kapitan Petko Voivode was held in 1963 and today it is one of the most impressive architectural landmarks in Haskovo. Stoyu Todorov – a famous Bulgarian architect, who worked in the middle of the last century, was its creator. There are a lot of monuments of the legendary voivode (leader) in many places in Bulgaria, as well as in Rome, Demir Hisar – Greece, Kiev and in Chicago, the USA – 18 monuments, 6 bas-reliefs and 4 memorial plates, but the largest one is the one in Haskovo.
